We are looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join our Finance team, reporting directly to the Assistant Finance Manager.

About the Role

As Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll across the Brooks Group.

Working closely with Finance, People & Culture, managers and employees, you will ensure payroll is processed accurately, efficiently and in line with relevant legislation, Awards and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process end-to-end payroll accurately and within required deadlines

  • Maintain employee payroll records and process approved changes.

  • Review and process timesheets, leave, overtime, allowances and other payroll adjustments

  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee payroll records

  • Prepare standard payroll reports and assist with reconciliations.

  • Process superannuation, PAYG withholding, and other statutory payroll requirements

  • Respond to routine payroll enquiries

  • Provide support to the Assistant Finance Manager and wider Finance team as required

About You

We are looking for someone who is experienced, organised and genuinely enjoys payroll.

You will ideally have:

  • 1–2 years’ experience in an end-to-end payroll role, preferably within an Australian business.

  • Good working knowledge of Australian payroll requirements, including PAYG withholding, superannuation, STP and leave entitlements.

  • Basic to intermediate experience interpreting Awards, employment contracts and workplace conditions.

  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when processing payroll and maintaining employee records.

  • Experience using payroll and/or accounting systems, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.

  • Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet payroll deadlines consistently.

  • Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees and internal stakeholders.

  • A proactive and positive attitude, with a willingness to learn and contribute to process improvements.

  • Experience with NetSuite is highly regarded but not essential.
